Abstract

The rhenaborane Cp*ReH<sub>3</sub>B<sub>3</sub>H<sub>8</sub>, which is generated by the reaction of Cp*ReH<sub>6</sub> with BH<sub>3</sub>·THF, has been characterized spectroscopically in solution and by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study in the solid state as a hydrogen-rich <i>arachno</i>-metallatetraborane. <p>
