Abstract

Discusses the collaboration of Emilián Trolda with Karel Motejlek (1915–82), a cantor from the village of Zásada near Jablonec nad Nisou (Czech Republic). From 1944 through 1949, with Trolda’s encouragement, Motejlek made reconstructions of 18th-c. Czech music; Trolda then added basso continuo. Relevant documents are deposited in the Muzeum České Hudby of the Národní Muzeum, Prague.
