Abstract

Coupling of eugenol (<i>I</i>) and isoeugenol (<i>II</i>) by means of horseradish peroxidase and hydrogen peroxide resulted in ~20% yield of dimeric compounds: 5,5’-diallyl-2,2’-dihydroxy-3,3’-dimethoxy-biphenyl (<i>III</i>) and 2-(4’-hydroxy-3’-methoxy)phenyl-7-methoxy-3-methyl-5-propenyl-2,3-dihydrobenzofurane (<i>IV</i>), respectively.
