Abstract

The title compound was prepared by mixed aldol condensation of 2-ethylhexanal and acetone, double bond hydrogenation, aldol autocondensation of the resulting saturated ketone and finel double bond hydrogenation. It is identical with the ketone C<sub>22</sub>H<sub>44</sub>O previously isolated from new Kelex 100 which was erroneously assigned a furoquinoline structure.
